The Importance of a Clean Political Campaign

Why are so many political campaigns negative? Personally, I wish they weren’t. I’d much rather hear why I should vote for someone than why I should not. That’s one reason I’m committed to running a clean, positive campaign!

District 8 is a close-knit community of people. We all want the best for our families, friends and neighbors, and I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have all the answers. It takes all of us working together to make Southwest Louisiana the best it can be!

What does a clean campaign look like?

As noted in my list of values on my homepage, you won’t see me say one thing and do another. So here are my commitments to you, the voters of District 8.

  1. Be honest. This includes total transparency about my views, what I will do, and how I will make decisions if elected. You can be confident that what I promise will be done.

  2. Encourage voters to be well-informed. Before voting, I hope you’ll take the time to learn about every candidate and their policies, plans and beliefs, and make sure you understand what the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury does for our area so you can decide who will best represent your interests.

  3. Treat fellow candidates with honesty and respect. We live in a close-knit community, and the last thing we need is division.

Why run a positive political campaign?

I believe running a clean campaign is just the right thing to do. But it has also proven to bring more voters to the polls! A positive, uplifting campaign inspires voters as it boosts people’s enthusiasm for the democratic process.

Wondering why you should vote for me? Find out here!

Let’s get started.

If I win this election, I still want to support great ideas, including great initiatives that have worked in other areas. If I don’t, I’ll still do what I can to help District 8. To me, this race is not about winning a title. This campaign is about working together to build an even stronger District 8 and a stronger Calcasieu Parish!

I am confident in speaking for all CPPJ candidates when I tell you that the thing we want most is for you to vote! You can vote early from Sept. 30 through Oct. 7 (excluding Sunday, Oct. 1) or on Election Day – Saturday, Oct. 14. If you're unable to get to the polls, click here to review information on Louisiana's absentee voting options.
